China Business Intelligence and Cross-Cultural Training
Research has shown that the biggest obstacles to successful business in China or with the Chinese community in North America are the barriers and misunderstandings caused by language and culture gaps. Many businesses expand to China without knowing what they don't know - or the damage that this scenario can cause.
In addition to the obvious language barrier, there are vast differences in how we communicate (verbally and nonverbally), make decisions, and process information. For instance, gaps in attitudes toward authority and individualism can cause misunderstanding and conflict. Indirect communication in business processes that assume transparency can, and will, cause operational breakdowns. Vast differences exist in motivation within the workforce. The list goes on.
To engage in business activity with Chinese companies and communities, organizations must understand how our innate business cultural values and assumptions influence our own behavior, actions and expectations.
TLI-The Mandarin School prepares North American and Chinese organizations to strengthen existing and build new business arrangements and operations through expert knowledge of cultural and regional influences on business practices and relationships.
(Workshops are conducted in English or French. Les formations du TLI-The Mandarin School sont offertes en anglais et en français.)
